Privacy policy

Overview

PilotBZ operates a combined marketplace, services directory, recruitment platform and referral program. We process information needed to provide those features, keep accounts secure, complete transactions and improve the platform. We aim to handle personal data fairly and transparently in line with applicable Sri Lankan data-protection requirements.

Information we collect

• Account information: mobile number, verification records and account identifiers.
• Profile and recruitment information: name, contact details, location, skills, education, experience, availability, CV and job applications you choose to provide.
• Seller and business information: shop or company name, description, address, email, listings, applications received and fulfillment updates.
• Orders and payments: cart contents, quantities, delivery or appointment details, payment method, transaction references and deposit receipts. PilotBZ does not need to display your full card credentials.
• Marketing and referral information: referral links, sponsor relationships, attributed purchases, commission records and payout references.
• Technical and activity information: session cookies, security attempts, page interactions, ad impressions or clicks, device/browser information and server logs reasonably needed to operate and protect the service.

How we use information

• Sign users in with OTP verification and protect accounts from abuse.
• Create profiles, shops, listings, applications, bookings, orders and plan subscriptions.
• Review seller, listing, marketing-officer and payment requests.
• Connect buyers with sellers, candidates with employers and customers with service providers.
• Calculate delivery, platform charges, referrals and commissions.
• Provide customer support, maintain audit records, prevent fraud and resolve disputes.
• Measure platform and advertising performance and improve usability.
• Meet legal, accounting and regulatory obligations that apply to PilotBZ.

When information may be shared

We share only the information reasonably required for the selected feature:

• With a seller or service provider when you place an order or booking.
• With an employer when you submit a job application; your profile and protected CV viewer are shared for that application.
• With approved employers when you make your candidate profile discoverable and they use an available profile view.
• With payment providers such as Dialog, banks involved in deposit verification, and couriers selected for delivery.
• With service providers that host, secure or support PilotBZ under appropriate arrangements.
• With authorities or other parties when required by law, needed to protect rights and safety, or necessary to investigate misuse.

Public shop pages and published listings show the business information the seller submitted for public display. Marketing attribution may associate a transaction with referral officers for commission calculation, without making private account details public.

Your choices and rights

• Edit your profile and decide whether approved employers may discover it.
• Remove or replace your uploaded CV.
• Choose whether to apply, order, publish, join a seller program or participate as a Sale Agent.
• Ask PilotBZ customer support to help you access, correct, update or address concerns about your personal data, subject to applicable law and records PilotBZ must retain.
• Control browser cookies through browser settings; essential session cookies may be required for secure sign-in and transactions.

Requests may require identity verification so information is not disclosed or changed for the wrong person.

Security, storage and retention

PilotBZ uses access controls, protected administrator roles, private file checks, encrypted sensitive configuration values and transaction audit records. No online system can promise absolute security, so users should also protect their devices and verification codes.

Information is retained for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain security and transaction history, resolve disputes, enforce agreements and meet legal, tax or accounting duties. Retention periods can differ by record type. Information that is no longer required should be deleted or de-identified where reasonably practicable.

Children, external links and policy changes

PilotBZ is intended for people who can lawfully use marketplace, employment and payment services. A parent or guardian should contact support if they believe a child supplied personal data without appropriate authorization. Links to external services are governed by those services’ own privacy terms.

We may update this policy when features, providers or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top will be updated when a revised policy is published.
